Abstract

Maoism is a global political and ideological current, emerged in the course of the Chinese revolution during the first half of the 20th century, but turned into a revolutionary project with a global reach. In this sense, this article proposes a synthesis look at the studies of global history of Maoism, pointing out its contributions, discussions, limitations, to understand the richness of the history of the communist lefts in the world, not as a past overcome, but as a present past, active and related to contemporary emancipatory struggles
