Abstract

The problem of professional direction of modern students is discussed. Optimal level of professional direction development, level of mastering the activities of the future specialist significantly depend on the motivation to studies. Many researches show that personality professional direction is one of the main indicators of personal ability to work. The scientists developed theoretical preconditions to solve the problem under study. At the same time there are contradictions to be solved. Consequently, the concept of “profession direction” has been specified, and its structural components have been revealed. The factors influencing personal motivation to choosing a profession have been revealed. The authors emphasize the necessity to develop a model of personal professional direction and specify its components. The results of respondents’ inquiry are presented that made it possible to define students’ professional direction. Practical experiences of career guidance counseling are described.
