Abstract
The article is devoted to the issues of improving the quality of education in a modern information society. The requirements for the modern education system in the process of forming the information competence of graduates are stated. A systematic, unified approach to information competence is a theoretical basis for studying trends and conditions of development, substantiating its essential features, substantiating the criteria and levels of its formation. On the basis of theoretical analysis, proceeding from combinations of various stages of mastering information competencies, the article highlights the levels of information competence formation. The level of development of information competence of a future specialist as a set of motivational, informational, technological and personal components is presented.
