Abstract

Purpose The purpose of this study is to identify the needs of senior tourists by measuring their satisfaction through analysis of obstacles that occur during tourism and barrier-free tourism attributes. Research on senior tourism has generally researched the form of large-scale tourism in welfare tourism. Still, it aims to provide practical implications for the tourism burden of senior tourists due to the continuous occurrence of tourism obstacles.
 Methods A face-to-face survey was conducted on seniors who visited the Gwangju Cultural Heritage Night Festival in 2023. The survey lasted for two days, from June 16 to June 17, 2023, during which 600 copies were distributed, and 548 copies were used for the final analysis, excluding 52 copies whose responses were judged unfaithful.
 Results As a result of analyzing the effect of barrier-free tourism attributes of local festivals on senior tourists' satisfaction, attachment to places, and revisit intention, first, a study found that the effect of barrier-free tourism attributes of local festivals on festival satisfaction has a statistically positive (+). Second, a study found that festival satisfaction has a positive (+) effect on local attachment. Third, a study found that festival satisfaction has a positive (+) effect on revisit intention. Fourth, a study found that place attachment has a positive (+) effect on revisit intention.
 Conclusion This study will contribute to the expansion of senior tourism research and provide practical implications for developing senior tourism-related programs.
