Abstract
Large-scale changes occurring in the monetary circulation of the Russian state (the emergence of a new type of money, a system of fast payments, the transition between states to payments in national currencies, the formation of monetary unions, etc.) led to the intensive development of the institution of monetary circulation law, determining the relevance of scientific research into its formation, status and development trends. This article is devoted to the prerequisites for the formation of the institution of the law of monetary circulation, within the framework of which the formation of the fundamental principles and attributive sub-institutions of the institution of the law of monetary circulation in different periods of Russian statehood is examined.
