Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of chrononyms influence on the construction of the semantic space of a text by the material of the English short stories by Roald Dahl. The author discusses the use of the chronotope in the literary text, which is a text-building technique and an obligatory category of the text. The main problem is to establish how factuality is embedded in fiction and determines the construction of the text. Conclusions are drawn that chrononyms introduce chronology into the characters’ life, reveal micro-themes, create a network of text reference indications and are represented in the construction of textual information.
