Abstract

The article touches upon the issue of students’ tolerance to uncertainty in relation to their coping strategies. The relevance of the study is due to the fact that the ability to act in situations of uncertainty reflects the individual’s readiness for change, which is especially important in the context of global changes related to the subject’s daily life. Students are one of the vulnerable categories of people to experiences in a state of uncertainty caused by a lack of experience in making independent decisions. Cluster analysis was used to determine the groups of students differing in the expression of coping strategy indicators; Mann – Whitney U-criterion was used to establish the differentiation of coping strategies manifestations and indicators of students’ tolerance to uncertainty. Three groups of subjects were identified: students with unproductive, relatively productive and pro-ductive coping strategies; the peculiarities of students’ tolerance to uncertainty belonging to each group were studied.
