Abstract

Purpose. The study analyzes the levels of training, generalized labour functions (GLF) and labour functions being mastered according to the professional standard “Firefighter”, and brings up the existing problem concerning the compliance of firefighter’s training level with the requirements of the professional standard. Algorithm development for determining the compliance of firefighter’s training level with the requirements of the professional standard “Firefighter” and proposing the solutions for its every stage in order to further substantiate the total workload hours for studied disciplines, sufficient for complete mastering each labour function of the professional standard “Firefighter”. Methods. To solve the problem, general scientific and special methods of scientific knowledge were used: analysis, synthesis, generalization, which were based on mathematical logic and the theory of algorithms. The applied methods made it possible to conduct a study on the total workload hours of each labour function of the standard under analysis. Findings. The result of the study is the developed algorithm for possible substantiation of the compliance of firefighters’ level of training with the requirements of the professional standard “Firefighter”. In the course of solving the stages of algorithm, the generalized labour functions and labour functions were described, the disciplines studied in the framework of mastering these functions were determined. Each of the disciplines has been distributed according to the studied topics; the amount of hours allocated for studying each generalized labour function has been calculated. The topics of the analyzed disciplines have been distributed in accordance with labour functions of the professional standard, the total number of hours allocated for their study has been determined; the percentage ratio of the obtained results has been deduced. The study made it possible to obtain data reflecting the uneven distribution of the number of hours allocated for the study of labour functions of the professional standard. For further research it is planned to apply the expert assessment method. In order to be able to conduct it, the article defines the criteria for selecting experts. Research application field. The obtained results can be used to substantiate the required number of hours for mastering labour functions at each level of training of the professional standard “Firefighter”. Conclusions. The proposed algorithm will make it possible to further substantiate the number of hours allocated for each of the topics of the studied disciplines.
