Abstract

Parable strategy of the author`s discourse in the novel "The Gambler" embodies into an image pattern of temptation and moral enslavement by passions of the hero, who broke with the House. In the context of ideas of pochvennichestvo Dostoevsky's novel "The Gambler" is read as an art metaphor, enclosing the author`s view on the issue of the problem of "the foreign Russians" and wider on the issue of the problem "Russia Europe."
