Abstract

This study investigated the influence of lexical factors on verbal Eojeol recognition by analyzing the relationship between average potential of ERP components and reaction time and lexical factors. A multiple-meaning-decision task was implemented to 24 Korean native speakers. The results indicated that significant relationships were found between reaction time and four factors such as root frequency, eojoel frequency, number of dictionary meanings and numbers of subjective meanings. In terms of the results of ERP experiments, average potentials of P300 component, 264-308ms showed significant correlations with first-syllable-sharing frequency, numbers of dictionary meanings; and average potentials of N400 component showed correlation significantly with numbers of dictionary meanings(328-356ms) and eojeol frequency (372-392ms).
