Abstract

This paper is devoted to reviewing the most common basic approaches to creating user models in information systems. It also discusses the basic concepts used in user modeling, such as the mental user model and the cognitive user model. The paper is of a staged nature and is not intended to give a comprehensive overview of user modeling approaches and technologies. The main purpose is clarification of the basic concepts, its mutual correlation, as well as their adaptation and development of working definitions, corresponding to the specifics of the current research work. The main research methods are comparative analysis and review of scientific sources. The result is a brief overview of approaches to modeling users of information systems, as well as working definitions of basic concepts that will be used in subsequent research work.
