Abstract

 The paper studies the performance appraisal system of civil servants in the Republic of Armenia. In particular, attention is paid to the effectiveness assessment methodology. In order to comment on the system of remuneration resulting from the assessment, the amount of remuneration for the simulated government structure has been calculated in the case of receiving the highest and lowest performance rating. As a result of the study, systemic problems are identified and solutions are proposed. It is necessary to carry out proper work planning, as a consequence of which performance estimates obtained as a result of changing the performance appraisal methodology should be applied in management decisions. One of the results of the research is the need to change the remuneration system in terms of staffing the civil service system, which will lead to an increase in the efficiency of the civil service system. The author arrives at the conclusion that an effective performance appraisal system will increase the efficiency of civil servants and improve the quality of work.
