Abstract

The purpose of the study is to summarise experience of teaching Latin and modern foreign languages to junior students of the foreign language department of a higher education institution (the bachelor course level). The article deals with importance of learning, mastering and using the Latin and French paroemias by linguistic students. Scientific novelty of the research lies in taking a modern approach to parallel study of the Latin and French paroemias on the basis of step-by-step methods developed by the authors. The research findings have shown that it is advisable to study paroemias in lexical-thematic groups as a part of the step-by-step methods proposed by the authors for bachelor degree linguistic students of the first and second years of study.
