Abstract

The article reviews the place of administrative law measures in the system of prevention of crimes committed by drug addicts. The publication analyzes provisions of administrative laws that stipulate liability for drug abuse. The author dives into history of application of coercive administrative and medical measures in the soviet period, describes provisions of penal laws regulating obligatory treatment of drug-abusing convicts. Based on the historical experience of Russia and the practice of listed CIS member-states, the author suggests measures for improvement of laws in the sphere of combating drug abuse, crimes and other drug-related offenses.
