Abstract
The program of the elective course “Development of research skills in real mathematics” is recommended for the pre-profi le training of the 9th grade students in basic general education. The course does much to promote the formation of mathematical literacy, the development of intellectual skills and mentality qualities typical for mathematical activity and necessary for a person to live in modern society and solve practical problems. The leading type of educational activity of schoolchildren is the project and research activities to solve problems of applied orientation. The article presents the curriculum of the course, its content, types of lessons and forms of control. The forms of training in the organization of research activities of students are defi ned. The project method is recommended as the main learning method.
