Abstract

The research considers the theoretical and methodical principles and the arrangements of assessment tools designed to facilitate the academic process when earning a master’s degree. The focus is on solving this problem in terms of implementing the requirements of the system- and activity-based approach as a part of the Federal State Educational Standard of Higher Education. The assessment tools development practices in Surgut State Teacher’s Training University are presented. The authors demonstrate the ways to structure the skills developed in the master’s degree students by a case study of a course in Innovative and Research Activities of a Modern Teacher of a master’s program in Innovative Elementary School. The research determines the appropriate forms of ongoing, interim monitoring and final check that make it possible to develop professional skills in students in accordance with the above-mentioned standard. The study discusses the matters of choice of the best assessment tools and their practical application when training future Masters of Education.
