Abstract

The article analyzes the inspection of vehicles with on-board computers for the possibility of obtaining information relevant to the investigation of a traffic crime. When examining a vehicle, the investigator must take measures to obtain information about the presence of an on-board computer and subsequently to detect it, for this purpose, seek help from an automotive technician, a specialist in the field of computer technology, or car dealers. The information received from the on-board computer is used in the course of conducting a forensic auto-technical examination.
