Abstract

Abstract: This study sought to identify the attitudes of social studies teachers towards the employment of science fiction in basic education Students Teaching. Study sample consisted of (N=284) teacher who teaches social studies subjects for students in primary level in the Jordanian governorate in Irbid during the first semester (2014/2015 AD), sample selected randomly. To achieve the objectives of this study we were made a questionnaire consisting of (N=21) item distributed on three areas; ( planning, implementation, and evaluation). Results showed that the degree of teachers employment in science fiction came largely on the share planning area while came moderately on implementation and evaluation areas, and the existence of differences between the study sample average estimates of the share due to the variable sex in favor of females planning area, and the qualification in favor of variable individuals with higher qualifications estimates. The existence of differences between estimates average of respondents planning area and the implementation area due to expertise variable for the benefit of teachers with expertise estimates (5-10) and experienced (over 11 years). This study recommended with holding training courses for teachers on the use of science fiction in the method of teaching, and to highlight the skills to think and work on development while teaching.
