Abstract

The author introduces the term “activity paradigm of the Russian linguistic personality” and shares some results of the study carried out on the dominant verbs of the associative networks modeled on Russian associative dictionary (RAS) and Russian regional associative database (Siberia and the Far East) (SIBAS): ‘to live’, ‘to do’, ‘to sleep’, ‘to think’, ‘to go’, ‘to speak’, ‘to have done’. The study has been aimed at defining the changes in the socio-communicative settings of the Russian linguistic personality related to activity. The author provides the theoretical prerequisites to the study of the activity paradigm and proves the relevance of the term “hypernet” which has been borrowed from K.V. Anokhin’s hypernet brain theory to define the term “activity paradigm”. The article describes the methods applied at each of the two stages of the study which are statistical analysis and psychoglossing. Those reactions to the stimuli in question which are related to the subjects of activity, individualism, finance, and evaluations are cited. The author points out that analysis of verbs proves to be insufficient for understanding of the activity-related socio-communicative settings of the Russian linguistic personality. Thus, the article provides a supplementary analysis of the nouns ‘money’, ‘work’, ‘labor’, and ‘career’. Further research being necessary, the author observes an increase in the Russian linguistic personality’s egocentricity and some traces of monetarization of the Russian linguistic consciousness.
