Health fitness classes remain in demand in the process of physical education of female students of the Higher Education Institute of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. In the context of the problematic situation regarding the lack of physical activity, health fitness classes provide an opportunity for female students to maintain an optimal level of physical health based on the differentiation of physical loads taking in to account the indicators of their motor age. The purpose of the study is to determine and experimentally verify the effectiveness of fitness classes with female students of different motor ages based on the differentiation of physical exertion. Research material and methods. To achieve the goal, the following research methods were used: analysis and generalization of data from scientific and methodical literature and the global network «Internet»; calculation methods for determining motor age; instrumental methods; pedagogical testing, methods of mathematical statistics. The contingent of the study is 40 female students of the I, II and III years medical faculties of Zaporizhzhia State Medical and Pharmaceutical University. The results. An experimental program of health fitness classes was developed and tested, taking in to account a differentiated approach to the dosage of physical activity for female students of different motor ages. A rational combination of means of development of motor qualities was revealed: strength endurance – 15,9 %, dynamic strength – 12,9 %, speed-power endurance – 8,7 %, static endurance – 17,9 %, flexibility – 12,7 %, speed – 14,7 % and coordination abilities – 17,3 %. The study revealed a moderate negative correlation between indicators of motor age and the level of physical health (r = ‒0,7, at p < 0.01). Three levels of motor age have been identified based on physical health. The first level corresponds to optimal physical health: a motor age deviation from the chronological age of 0 to 11 years is characteristic of a "safe" motor age level, which includes female students with very high and high levels of physical health. Female students whose motor age is more than 12 ± 1 years older than their chronological age fall into the "borderline" zone and have an average (second) level of physical health. If the motor age exceeds the chronological age by 13 years or more, the body is in the "dangerous" zone—classified as the third level. Conclusions. Taking in to account the motor age of female students during health fitness classes ensures an optimal level of motor activity and increases the level of physical fitness.

The level of physical (somatic) health of 1st-year students of a higher education institution
 • May 12, 2023
 • Scientific Journal of National Pedagogical Dragomanov University. Series 15. Scientific and pedagogical problems of physical culture (physical culture and sports)
 • S.Y Gerasymenko

The article defines the level of physical (somatic) health of students of the 1st year of a higher education institution. It was used the method of assessing the level of physical health G.L. Apanasenko.
The data on the distribution of the examinees according to the level of physical health allow us to state that 14.14% of female students and 2.39% of male students have a low level of physical health, 29.31% and 21.18% - below average, 44, 37% and 45.56% are average, 12.83% and 30.87% are above average.
The results of our research indicate that the average level of physical health prevails among first-year students. Unfortunately, among the students who took part in the study, there were not those whose level of physical health can be characterized as high.
The obtained results prove the relevance and expediency of developing measures aimed at improving the level of physical health of students of the 1st year of a higher education institution.
In our opinion, the prospect of further scientific research is the development of new methods of individualization of differentiated physical loads of students in the process of physical education depending on their level of health.

The Role of Physical Activity and Sedentary Behavior in Predicting Daily Pain and Fatigue in Older Adults: a Diary Study.
 • Dec 12, 2017
 • Annals of Behavioral Medicine
 • Saengryeol Park + 3 more

Little attention has been paid to within-person daily associations among light physical activity (PA), moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA), and sedentary behavior (SB) with subsequent bodily pain and fatigue. Daily reports of pain and fatigue are less likely to be affected by recall bias and to conflate days of high and low pain/ fatigue into one overall score. The purpose of this study was to examine daily within-person associations between pain, fatigue, and physical health and ascertain whether such associations are moderated by individual differences in these variables. Participants were 63 community-living older adults (female n = 43, mean age = 70.98 years). Questionnaires measured typical levels of PA, SB, bodily pain, fatigue, and physical health. Subsequently, on a daily basis over a 1-week period, participants' levels of light PA, MVPA, and SB were measured using accelerometers. Participants completed a questionnaire rating their pain and fatigue at the end of each day. Multilevel modeling revealed positive within-person associations between daily light PA, dailyMVPA, and pain, as well as negative within-person associations between daily SB and pain. For individuals with higher typical levels of fatigue, there was a negative association between daily light PA, MVPA, and fatigue. For individuals with better levels of physical health, there was also a negative association between daily MVPA and fatigue. For those with higher typical levels of fatigue and better levels of physical health, there was a positive association between daily SB and fatigue. No such interaction effects were found between high levels of typical pain and PA or SB. Our findings indicate that efforts to promote daily PA in older adults might be more effective for those who report high typical levels of fatigue and physical health, compared to those who report high levels of daily physical pain.

 • Jan 1, 2019
 • Journal of Human Sport and Exercise
 • Yaroslav Galan + 3 more

The research study presents the results of the pedagogical experiment that lasted during 2017-2018 academic year. Altogether 101 girls aged 12-13 years who, for reasons of health, are classified as primary and preparatory medical groups, were involved in the research. The purpose of the research was to determine the appropriate standards of physical fitness of 12-13-year old girls, which provide a stable level of physical health. To achieve this goal, an integrated approach was used using the following research methods: analysis and synthesis of special research and methodological literature and documentary materials; anthropometric methods; determination of the level of physical health; pedagogical testing; physiological methods; methods of mathematical statistics. The article presents the results of correlation relationships of indicators of motor tests and physical health. On their basis, regression equations were estimated to determine the appropriate values of physical fitness of girls aged 12-13 years with an average and below the average level of physical health. Through the use of factor analysis, we identified five statistically independent factors: muscular strength, speed-strength, agility, endurance and speed. The total contribution of these factors to the generalized variance of the sample is 89.6 %. We selected the most informative motor tests: for assessing muscle strength - shoulder flexor dynamometry (r = 0.759 with p < .01), speed-strength qualities – standing long jump (r = 0.800 with p < .01) speed - the difference between the time of shuttle run 3 × 10 m and 30 m (r = 0.808 with p < .01); endurance - relative performance (PWC 150 ) (r = 0.869 with p < .01) and speed - 5 seconds running in the place at the maximum pace (r = 0, 0.860 p < .01). The results have prognostic value for the development of methods of training with a rational correlation of physical activity of various directions for a given age group.

Introduction. Nowadays each of us cares about health state, wellbeing, working capacity and methods how to increase that, to make it efficient. Solving eternal question, we have to focus our attention on the researches of physical education innovative methods, the usage of which will contribute towards human’s physical state level rise. The rapid pace of life literally wears out young women and men. Especially it refers to the early adulthood age women. Most of them during the day must combine work (which quite often leads to occupational disease), housekeeping, raising children and everyday life worries. Described women have only 1-3 free hours per day. The deficit of time to spare leads to inability of women to take care of self-health state and visit fitness classes. Such pastime allows to increase the level of physical state and consequently improve health state and working capacity. Therefore, the question of fitness classes optimization is the topical and can be solved with the usage of the latest technologies. One of these technologies is the EMS Xbody exercise machine, which is based on artificial electrical muscle stimulation. Classes using the EMS Xbody exercise machine for 30-45 minutes are equivalent to 1.5-2 hours of training in the gym, which is important for working women with no time to spare. The article is considered on the effect of ski training on the level of physical fitness and physical health of students 5–6 classes. The basis of our methodology is the rational use of skiing equipment in the system of lessons for pupils of 5-6 classes in general education institutions in the presence of appropriate conditions. The main components of the methodology are the organization of training with specific tasks and means at each of the stages; the frequency of classes for a week and the use of exercises that are rationally balanced in orientation, capacity and volume in accordance with the individual abilities of the body of students; in the process of special physical training it is necessary to implement health-improving facilities taking into account the degree of their impact on the level of physical health and the tightness of the relationship with the result of skiing; the development of physical qualities during the lesson should be taken at least 20-30 minutes. Quantitative analysis of the results of pedagogical testing of physical preparedness showed that in the development of physical qualities of the studied students of experimental and control groups during training sessions, there were positive changes in most indicators. The reliability of changes in the average results of flexibility, strength and endurance of the abdominal muscles, arm strength was not confirmed in all groups (p> 0.05). Also, the rates of speed and agility in boys and the agility of girls in control groups did not significantly increase. The most significant changes were the level of development of aerobic endurance. In Egyptian girls, on average, they improved their results in 588 m in skiing, and boys in 627 m (p <0.01). In KG this indicator increased by 309 m in boys and by 305 in girls (p <0.05). The results of the experiment indicate positive changes in the indicators of endurance, speed, agility, speed-strength and strength abilities that occurred in adolescents as a result of school-based skiing. The level of general physical fitness increased in all studied groups. The students' physical health indicators also got positive changes. The indicators of the index of life, index Robinson and Ruffier have increased, indicating an increase in the functional capabilites of the respiratory system, cardiovascular system and disability. The average score for the level of physical health has increased that indicates a significant improvement in the level of physical health under the influence of ski training. The number of pupils with low and below average health decreased twice in experimental groups, while the number of pupils with average health increased. The number of pupils with higher average and high levels of health has increased. This proves the overall positive impact of skiing at school and especially on the developed methodology.

Purpose: to reveal the level of physical fitness of judokas of 19-21 years old of different weight categories and to carry out their comparative characteristic. Material and methods. The following research methods were applied: analysis and generalization of scientific and methodical literature; pedagogical testing; methods of mathematical statistics. Pedagogical testing was passed by 30 judoists, which were divided into groups of 10 sportsmen according to weight category: light, middle, heavy. Results: analysis of the data showed that judokas of light weight categories have good results in the tests: «5-fold exercise» - 8,9 seconds and «Throws of the partner over the thigh for 10 seconds» – 9,2 times, thus showing the best manifestation of coordination abilities and speed qualities among all groups of weight categories. Representatives of middle weight categories have the best results in the tests: «Lifting a dummy by gripping the torso from behind while standing on parallel benches» - 20 times and «Throwing a dummy for 3 minutes» - endurance coefficient 0,8. Thus demonstrating the advantage in the manifestation of power endurance and endurance. Representatives of heavy weight categories compared to judokas of other weight categories have worse results in all tests, except for the flexibility test «Wrestling bridge position», showing the best result - 58 cm. Comparative analysis of all weight categories shows that judokas of light and middle weight categories have a significant advantage over judokas of heavy weight categories, except for flexibility indicators, where representatives of heavy weight categories have an advantage (light weight categories - t=4,79; p<0,05; middle weight categories - t=2,26; p<0,05). In speed and power indicators and the manifestation of speed light and middle weight categories do not have reliable differences. Conclusions. Thus, judokas of light weight categories are distinguished by a good manifestation of coordination abilities and speed abilities, sportsmen of middle weight categories have an advantage in the manifestation of power endurance and endurance, representatives of heavy weight categories have good indicators in the manifestation of flexibility and good indicators of speed abilities, but the manifestation of coordination abilities and endurance is at a weak level. Comparative analysis of physical fitness of light weight categories with middle ones revealed significant differences in the advantage of light weight categories in tests characterizing the manifestation of power endurance, coordination abilities, flexibility. Comparative analysis of physical indicators of middle weight categories with heavy weight categories shows the advantage of middle weight categories over heavy weight sportsmen in the manifestation of power endurance, endurance and speed and power abilities. A comparative analysis of the physical indicators of athletes of light weight categories with heavy ones also revealed statistically significant differences. The greatest difference is observed in the tests of coordination abilities in favor of light weight and flexibility in favor of heavy weight.
