Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of the evolution of women’s images in traditional Tatar literature and in the novel «Zuleikha Opens her Eyes» by G. Yakhina. In this context, differences and similarities in the images of national heroines are revealed, it is concluded that the image of Zuleikha is created by a modern writer, on the one hand, in accordance with the tradition of depicting a woman in Tatar literature, on the other hand, G. Yakhina is clearly moving away from gender, moral-religious and social stereotypes of the embodiment of the image of a Muslim woman.
