Abstract

The article examines the issues of such a dangerous socially negative phenomenon of a criminal nature as corruption, which hinders the sustainable development of Russian society and defines Russia in the world community as a country with a high level of corruption, contributing to its economic collapse and the destruction of the system of state power and management. The concept of corruption, its causes and forms is revealed, the classification of corruption-related crimes is given. The research is mostly based on the practice of St. Petersburg in the fight against corruption by law enforcement agencies and the prevention of corruption manifestations. The material is replete with examples of judicial practice concerning corruption crimes; statistical data characterizing the level of corruption in the Northern capital.
