Abstract
The article reveals the organizational structure and tasks of the aviation of the Russian Empire, the Air Force Formations and educational institutions of which were stationed on the territory of Ukraine during the World War I. It has shown the state of the aircraft construction and repair base, as well as the peculiarities of pilots' training in the educational institutions of the empire in 1917.
