Мелодика мелодрамы: роман Ф.М. Достоевского "Униженные и оскорбленные" и его кросс-семиотические соответствия в мюзикле "Владимирская площадь"

Abstract

The article discusses transcoding a literary work from a verbal system to a musical one, as well as transformations that occur both at the level of the libretto and at the level of the music score. The authors focus on the "translation" of Dostoevsky's novel "Humiliated and Insulted" into the "language" of the musical "Vladimirskaya Square", in which the writer has two co-authors: the librettist Verbin and the composer Zhurbin. Comparing the texts of the novel and the libretto, the authors identify the key words, images, concepts and compare their semantics with the meanings evoked by melodic constructions. The discovered cases of convergence of literary (verbal) and musical codes make it possible toidentify semiotic cross-codes, which are understood as the principles of information coding relevant for several art languages. The study uses corpus, textual, intertextual and semiotic methods of analysis comparing the data of the National Corpus of the Russian Language in relation to the use of Dostoevsky's lexemes of semantic clusters "Music", "Singing" and "Theater". The ideological fields of the novel and the musical, the musical parts of the characters of the musical, the key melodies that form the verbal characteristics of the characters and the leitmotifs of the source text, their images in the musical code, the texts of ballads in comparison with the key episodes of the original source are analyzed. The most frequent words and images are considered literary source creating plot forming oppositions in the play. The authors recognize the cross code semantization of the sound of musical instruments, genres and forms that also have literary connotations, and come to the conclusion about the seamless recoding of Dostoevsky's melodrama into the melodic system of a musical.
