Russian Abstract: В статье анализируется понятие и представление о «голодном крае» на примере очерка Цюй Цюбо «Путевые заметки о Новой России или записки о голодном крае». Приводятся примеры употребления данного понятия в прямом и переносном значениях. Определяется связь «голодного края» с образом восприятия России и русских. English Abstract: The article analyzes the concept and idea of a “hungry land” using the example of Qu Qiubai “Travel notes on New Russia or a note on a hungry land”. Examples of the use of this concept in direct and figurative meanings are given. The connection between the “hungry land” and the image of perception of Russia and Russians is determined.
