Abstract

The article presents an overview of the collections of two museums in Altai Krai (the Altai State Museum of Local Lore and the Bianki Biysk Museum of Local Lore) on house and spinning wheel painting as of 2023. The article considers typical and atypical for Altai samples of decorated wooden objects of the 19-20 centuries, products of modern authors made in the style of the Altai version of the Ural-Siberian painting, as well as sketches of the Altai house painting recorded by museum staff during historical and ethnographic expeditions.
